SALI member benefits

SALI brings members together in a relaxed networking environment through a host of SALI events, such as supplier open days, soccer days, golf days, talks, webinars, training and workshops.

All networking opportunities offer members access to pooled experiences, expertise, industry friendships, and wider community social activities.

An annual conference is held for all members of the Green Industry, which is the highlight of the landscape contracting calendar. Acknowledged experts in their respective fields present informative and hard hitting presentations.

The awarding of the prestigious SALI Awards of Excellence takes place at a function during the annual conference. These conferences rotate by region. The exchange of information, both formally and informally, and the ideas gained at the conference are invaluable.

Regular joint South African Green Industry Council (SAGIC) meetings provide the opportunity for other role-players in the industry to meet and review their relationships. It must be remembered that landscape architects are important specifiers for the landscaping industry.

SALI has a long standing relationship with Rand Water and the Water Wise Trophy for the top water wise landscaping project in South Africa has been presented annually since 2021.

SALI members agree to execute work according to the SALI Specifications documents which have been scientifically derived and are often used as specifications in tenders.

There are now three specification documents available to members:

* SALI Landscape Standards for Maintenance

* SALI Landscape Standards for Construction.

* SALI Interior Plantscaping Standards

All evaluations at the SALI Awards of Excellence are based on these specification standards.

The members section of the SALI website supplies all SALI members with a range of contract templates, downloadable legislation, labour resources, memorandum of agreement templates and SALI specification documents.

These resources assist members when entering into agreements with clients and preparing tender documents.

SALI's Facebook and Instagram pages reflect...

* Jobs available in the industry.

* The 40th SALI Anniversary - a history of projects and people.
